Legacy After the Bans: Winners and Losers

Constructedvon CabalTherapy (2021-02-18)

The ban hammer has hit Legacy hard, resulting in a much-needed upheaval of mythic proportions. With the metagame in turmoil, it's time to let old staples fall by the wayside and to resurrect even older staples. Here's a look at the future of the format, at losers, winners, and decks to play!

Kaldheim Candidates for Legacy

Constructedvon CabalTherapy (2021-02-02)

Kaldheim is not an overpowered set. I am inclined to add "fortunately" to this statement because Legacy has been on a wild ride since 2019. A little change of pace does us good. So let's take a relaxed stroll through the snowy scenery and take a look at the candidates that might find a place in Legacy …

Kaldheim Spotlight: Valki // Tibalt

Spoilervon Rone (2021-01-18)

With Kaldheim, the snowiest plane of all, Tibalt returns to Magic history—and to make history himself. Disguised as Valki, the God of mischief, trickery, and lies, he makes for the first ever modal double-faced card showcasing a creature/planeswalker, ready to boost every Rakdos archetype across all formats.

Zendikar Rising Spotlight: Jace, Mirror Mage in Legacy

Spoilervon Andifeated (2020-08-31)

The Legacy format was shaken by cheap planeswalker cards in 2019, with a bunch of story-relevant characters pushed onto overpowered cards. Jace has long been deprived of the throne. The new three-mana version from Zendikar Rising may not change that, but the card is definitely worth a look.

Forgotten Heroes

Unterhaltungvon Rone (2020-06-03)

Do you remember the first Magic creature that became the centerpiece of your deck? After all these years, so many iconic heroes have fallen by the wayside, overshadowed by better and newer alternatives. Today we pay tribute to a whole bunch of those that will forever live on in our memory if not in our decks.

Legacy Treasures 2: 4c Waterfalls

Constructedvon CabalTherapy (2019-08-12)

CabalTherapy is back tapping into some of the less known, but still great decks in Legacy. This time it's the "real" cascade deck: 4c Waterfalls. It's great and it's time it gets its time in the sunshine. Joing him as he gives you a snapshot of this oldie but goodie.

Dangerous Propositions: Hypergenesis

Constructedvon Kumagoro (2018-10-17)

The Modern ban list is a maximum security prison with 33 inmates, some of which pose a potentially serious threat to the meta. But now that Big Jace has been released, anything can happen. Let's review each of those offenders to see if they're eligible for parole. This time we talk of the ultimate green cheater.

Assassin's Trophy in Legacy: Is Sultai Viable Again?

Spoilervon ChristopherB (2018-10-05)

Welcome to my first article for Cardmarket Insight. Loving Legacy, I want to take this opportunity and write about the impact of the new shooting star, Assassin's Trophy in Legacy. Hans talked about the possible changes in Modern, so I want to take this chance to write about one of my favorite colors in Legacy: Sultai or BUG.
