It's mostly a mill card. The static ability is only relevant in fringe formats. And for graveyard hate there are usually better options.
Also it's just an uncommon and gets a reprint in the Challenger Decks.

This card will probably take as long as Dryad Arbor or Manamorphose did until everyone realizes what an insane card this is.

Why You Should Play Eldrazi Tron in Modern in 2020

ConstructedBy ElonThragtusk (2020-06-25)

For at least one year now, Eldrazi Tron has stuck around the top of the meta as one of the most successful decks in Modern. It's not even getting much support with new sets, yet it seldom, if ever, falls from tier one status. Basically, any time is a good time to smash with Eldrazi, and this is no exception.

M21 Spotlight: Conspicuous Snoop

SpoilersBy ElonThragtusk (2020-06-18)

Thanks to Modern Horizons and Core Set 2020, Vial Goblins has become an option in Modern, albeit with no major success so far. That may soon change, however, as Core Set 2021 provides us with a Goblin that was cause for much hype already and caused an older card to spike. How about a combo kill on turn three?

Yorion, Sky Nomad Rises in Modern

ConstructedBy Rone (2020-05-25)

"Come slide down rainbows in the sky, let's fly away. Like a bird, you're free to see the boundless face of the earth. Let the wind blow you like a kite and glide away." This is what it feels like to try Yorion in Modern, where the sky is the limit and all your wishes come true by playing an 80-card deck.

Yorion, a Nomad Mad for Standard

ConstructedBy BrentT (2020-04-30)

When companions were initially released, Yorion, Sky Nomad sort of flew under the radar because obviously busted Lurrus and Gyruda claimed the spotlight first. But the Standard metagame moves fast and now we're seeing Yorion variants rise to the top. Let's take a look at a couple of decks running an extra twenty cards.

Updating Modern Jund

ConstructedBy Andifeated (2020-04-03)

Theros Beyond Death impacted a lot of nonrotating formats with broken combo cards like Thassa's Oracle and Underworld Breach. But not only did the unfair strategies get new power-creep toys — the Titan duo of Uro and Kroxa changed the faces of many midrange decks as well. Let's see what Jund gets out of that!

2-Mana and 3-Mana Planeswalkers: How Broken Are They?

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2020-01-20)

We'll examine all 43, properly evaluating their "brokenness" in order to address the design sustainability of a planeswalker that can naturally drop on turn two or three.

Read on to see why it shouldn't be any less of a factor in the year to come, and what new tools and circumstances have improved its position in the metagame.

Pioneer at Cardmarket Series Prague

Event CoverageBy TobiH (2019-12-06)

Pioneer wasn't one of the big headliners in Prague, and the event's turnout wasn't big either. The format also experienced another round of bannings since. Nevertheless, the results call into question some previous assumptions. In particular, control fared much better than expected.

Mythic Championship V: Twilight of the Dead

Event CoverageBy Kumagoro (2019-10-23)

Rotation Grief: Dominaria (Part 1)

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2019-09-25)

The Standard Rotation looms closer with each passing day. The coming meta will be shaped, mostly, as a direct consequence of rotation. We're near the end of this journey of grief (or jubilation, depending on who you ask) as we look into the white, blue, and black cards we'll have to remove from our Standard decks when Dominaria rotates out.

The Future of Dark Confidant and Modern Jund

EntertainmentBy HansD (2019-07-25)

Midrange decks are built with the metagame in mind and are thus highly customizable. Regardless, even the most customizable of these decks still play core cards that are integral to the deck’s gameplan. Very rarely, in a non-rotating format such as Modern, does a new card come along that displaces the current best-in-slot card for a midrange deck. With the printing of Wrenn and Six in Modern Horizons, I believe that Dark Confidant has found himself as the odd man out after years of being a Jund mainstay.
