Worth every penny whenn used right!

Woltitolt(2018-09-15 00:06)

The 'land drawback' isn't that big a problem, especially in Legacy/vintage. Will be the #1 removal spell, period.

PartyJ(2018-09-13 16:28)

The initial hype is starting to fade away. Price range around 10 is reasonable. Knowing that this set is expected to be opened heavily.

operaman(2018-09-12 16:11)

Hmmm... Pretty high preorder price for a rare from a high printing set. If it were printed at mythic it might have held it’s price, but at rare i would stay away till it hits 10-15.

joven(2018-09-11 18:50)

@Zerhogie: "Vindicate" is in different colors. Maybe you mean "Maelstrom Pulse", but that has other advantages. There's also "Abrupt Decay" with different advantages and limitations. Some people in Competitive Magic actually see the land as a problem (compare "Path to Exile").

Zerhogie(2018-09-11 10:32)

This is just strictly better than Vindicate. Destroy permanent at instant speed for 2 ? We don't care about the land, that's just ridiculous. What the heck crossed their mind ?

A combination of Bazaar of Baghdad and Survival of the Fittest with the raw power of Hollow Ones and Vengevines has given birth to a new aggro deck that may be funny to play but is very consistent.

Why Standard-Plus Should Be a Singleton Format

EntertainmentBy HansD (2019-01-08)

Happy New Year, and welcome back! 2019 has a lot of new things in store for Magic as whole, with Magic Fests, E-Sports, and the introduction of a new format come October. There's plenty of speculation about what this format will look like, but I won't be bringing you any today in my article. Instead, I want to offer a suggestion: the "Standard-Plus" format, as it is currently referred to by Wizards of the Coast, should be a singleton format in the interest of the health of the format.

What Happened to Standard Stompy

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2018-11-22)

The Standard meta that ended its run in October was much friendlier to monocolored decks than the current one seems to be. As it turns out, getting access to half the Ravnican Guilds favors multicolor decks, who knew? And among the victims of this new trend is our old friend Steel Leaf Stompy.

ConstructedBy HansD (2018-11-20)

Everyone knows Stony Silence and Rest in Peace, but how about the hard hitters that don't see as much play in players' sideboards? Hans has decided to highlight four cards that, despite their effectiveness against the current meta, don't see enough play in sideboards.

Let's review each of the offenders to see if they're eligible for parole. This time, we talk of the burn spell that won't stay away.

ConstructedBy Rone (2018-11-09)

Well Abrade is no more and Christian is back with his version of Gateway Control. If you're interested in awesome control brews, this is the deck for you!
