Price for cavern is too high for a rare.. it's hard to understand why a pretty new rare, i didn't see a huge demand or little supply. i feel WotC will reprint cavern to adjust the price in eternal master.

Morfi(2015-12-03 23:23)

price for this rare is sick just as other not reprinted rares of the same kind (snapcaster, clique - reprinted but as mythic).

hugo87(2015-05-15 02:45)

When you keep those hands full of counterspells and you opponent starts with this... so frustrating.

ElBastardo(2015-05-07 23:27)

This card is not only good in tribal decks but also a good sideboard solution to protect your combo strategy if you do not have access to blue.

Quite the price tag though.

As usual, the Modern field at the most recent stop of the Cardmarket Series was the most diverse. The Top 16 featured no less than 15 different archetypes! Let's take a look at the best of what the format has to offer now, after the departure of Hogaak and Faithless Looting plus the addition of Stoneforge Mystic.

Modern Petitioning

ConstructedBy JohnnyCroat (2019-06-06)

The most important thing when trying to build a tribal deck is redundancy. Whatever your strategy, you need enough redundancy to ensure your tribal synergy is consistent. Kind of like Jund... only a bit more Johnny… JohnnyCroat that is!

Dangerous Propositions: Glimpse of Nature

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2019-04-11)

The Modern ban list is a maximum security prison with 34 inmates, some of which could potentially pose a serious threat to the meta. In this ongoing series, we're reviewing each of those offenders to see if they're eligible for parole. This time it's the turn of the green storm enabler.

Humans in the Current Modern Metagame

ConstructedBy JaminK (2019-04-09)

In a Modern metagame defined by Faithless Looting and Ensnaring Bridge, a deck that disrupts the opponent while applying pressure might be the key to victory. We'll go through a current decklist, discuss interesting slots in the deck to beat the meta and walk through the two most important matchups.

Tribal Attractions: Ooze Confidence

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2019-02-27)

Sometimes it's cool to build a deck around a small tribe that doesn't invite linear strategies – something that was actually true of Ooze until Ravnica Allegiance changed their slimy game for good.

Dangerous Propositions: Dark Depths

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2019-02-19)

The Modern ban list is a maximum security prison with (KCI update!) 34 inmates, some of which could potentially pose a serious threat to the meta. In this ongoing series, we're reviewing each of those offenders to see if they're eligible for parole. This time it's the turn of the evil queen of the tokens.

Understanding Aggro

ConstructedBy HansD (2019-02-05)

With Mono-Red aggro lighting up the stage in Standard, I want to take a look this week at what makes the aggro archetype tick. By breaking down and examining how these decks are built to be powerful, we can begin to understand why there will almost always be aggressive decks running around any given format!

Why Standard-Plus Should Be a Singleton Format

EntertainmentBy HansD (2019-01-08)

Happy New Year, and welcome back! 2019 has a lot of new things in store for Magic as whole, with Magic Fests, E-Sports, and the introduction of a new format come October. There's plenty of speculation about what this format will look like, but I won't be bringing you any today in my article. Instead, I want to offer a suggestion: the "Standard-Plus" format, as it is currently referred to by Wizards of the Coast, should be a singleton format in the interest of the health of the format.

A Thorough Look into Ultimate Masters - Part 3

SpoilersBy Kumagoro (2018-12-14)

Ultimate Masters is going to be the last event release celebrating 25 years of Magic in 2018, and possibly the final set in the Masters series. We're looking at all these reprints to see what they bring to the UMA experience and the secondary market; now it's time to end the exploration with green and colorless.

Behind the Tag - Deck Stories Part 1

EntertainmentBy ChristopherB (2018-12-13)

Nowadays, most new decks have reasonable names like "Izzet Phoenix" or "Golgari Midrange," which more or less describes what the decks do/contain. But what about deck names from days gone by? Where does "the Rock" come from? What does "Death and Taxes" have to do with a white weenie deck? This is a series meant to discuss, briefly, the history behind these names.

The Mage-Ring Bully Pulpit: UMA and the Future of Non-Rotating Formats

EntertainmentBy HansD (2018-11-29)

Welcome to the Mage-Ring Bully Pulpit, a column where I examine and discuss a topic to open up the discussion for the Magic community at large. In each installment of the Inner Workings series, we'll examine a different Modern archetype to find out what makes it tick. This time, it's the turn of a tribal deck that reached critical mass with a new, crucial addition on Core Set 2019, and it's been making strides ever since.

Tribal Attractions: Vampires

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2018-09-26)

With its four-faction setting, Ixalan has been a very tribal block, and then Dominaria doubled down on the approach. Even with Guilds of Ravnica stopping the trend, it's still a good time to have fun with Modern concoctions in the tribal flavor. In this installment: the suckers that so rarely suck.

Tribal Attractions: Dragons

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2018-08-31)

With its strict, four-faction setting, Ixalan has been a very tribal block, and then Dominaria doubled down with some tribal focus of its own. Time for Kumagoro to have fun with Modern-legal concoctions for some less obvious tribes. In this installment: the most iconic of the iconic tribes.

Inner Workings: Bloomless Titan

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2018-08-24)

Beating Your Opponents Down with Green-Black Elves

During a conversation last week, my friend Stefan asked me if I would be interested in playing in a large Modern tournament the following week. He has a large collection of Modern staples, which he offered to lend if there was a deck I wanted to play in particular. He had decided on playing Grixis Shadow for the tournament, and I picked up Black-Green Elves. Here's the deck list for my 75.

Only Two Things in Life Are Certain: An Interview on Death and Taxes

GP Madrid Aftermath: A Weekend Full of Magic

Event CoverageBy Rone (2018-03-19)

The Magic Grand Prix is the perfect excuse to spend a whole weekend enjoying our favorite hobby. Normally, the main event is what attracts most players’ attention – its coverage, Top 8 decklists, and of course, the GP winners. But there are many other things that one can have a go at aside from the competition.

Zero Thrill: The Pact of Negation Story

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2018-03-14)

Were Force of Will available in Modern, the format would be dramatically altered. And yet, Modern does already contain a piece of non-conditional zero-cost countermagic, and while it's not played as much as Vintage and Legacy's signature counterspell, it's been tentatively around since Modern's early days.

The Reign of Four-Drops in Modern - A Guide to Survive

ConstructedBy Rone (2018-03-07)

Since the last banned announcement unchained Jace, the Mind Sculptor and Bloodbraid Elf, Modern has shaken up drastically - or has it? Although most players are brewing decks that include these cards, I've decided to make the ultimate survival guide for fighting against them.

BW Soul Sisters: No Grey Areas

ConstructedBy JohnnyCroat (2018-02-08)

Modern is a wonderfully vibrant format currently, with each new set seeing new decks and archetype variants getting more than a few plays online. Pro Tour Rivals of Ixalan saw 5 Colour Humans as its most popular deck, with two such builds making it as far as the Top 8. But, once upon a time, there was a popular mono-White Humans deck: Soul Sisters. Does this deck still have legs? Or has its time passed?

A Case Study on the Fall of Bant Eldrazi

ConstructedBy HansD (2018-02-02)

Modern evolves as new cards enter the format, broken enablers are banned, and archetypes are discovered through off-the-wall experimentation. What used to be a tier-one archetype can in a few months be outclassed, outdated, and outmatched by the new hotness. Bant Eldrazi is one such archetype that now finds itself looking in from the outside of a format it once used to rule. How did this powerful deck manage to quickly fall from the top of the pile?

Back to Basic Lands: Mono Color Decks in Modern

ConstructedBy Rone (2018-01-31)

Starting over in Magic is always difficult, especially Eternal formats where there is no rotation, and card staples tend to be expensive. Fortunately, there are some budget archetypes that allow you to start playing Modern and then evolve into a tier deck. Today, we are going to break down some mono color decks for Modern.
