Not in standard, but it's still a great land … use it in all my commander decks, so much value … but that could explain why it's still going up in value!?!

KarstenP(2019-10-22 17:28)

Now banned in standard. Will it affect the price? What about modern relevance?

scearhead(2019-07-06 14:16)

Seems great for my Colorless Eldrazi EDH Deck that.

Shyrocco(2019-07-04 09:29)

Does this trigger when its the seventh land itself?

Why You Should Play Titan Shift in Modern in 2020

ConstructedBy ElonThragtusk (2020-01-07)

Titan Shift, although not the most popular Modern deck right now, still saw a decent amount of play throughout 2019, especially in the final few months. Read on to see why it shouldn't be any less of a factor in the year to come, and what new tools and circumstances have improved its position in the metagame.

Why You Too Should Play European Highlander

ConstructedBy Ratix (2020-01-06)

Before Commander caught on, players had already been enjoying a singleton format for years. It was named Highlander — originally for the catchphrase of the 1986 cult classic which stipulates that "There can be only one," but the format also seems to want to live forever.

The Year of the Banhammer

ConstructedBy Rone (2019-12-20)

2019 will be remembered for many things: insanely powerful cards, Arena Mythic Championships, the creation of Pioneer. However, one thing stands out among the others: a total of nine banning announcements featuring changes, more than in the two previous years combined. Let's review the Year of the Banhammer.

All entries into our Christmas contest have been submitted. Now it's time to take a look at the most popular cards on Cardmarket in 2019, starting with creatures. Recently, we saw oh so many Gilded Geese alongside Paradise Druids and Hydroid Krases, but those didn't top the charts …

Event CoverageBy Kumagoro (2019-12-13)

The final entry in the Mythic Championship series, as well as the last big professional event of the year, presented a reasonably varied Standard metagame. Though there were more than a few twists as well as a couple notable absentees.

Pioneer at Cardmarket Series Prague

Event CoverageBy TobiH (2019-12-06)

Pioneer wasn't one of the big headliners in Prague, and the event's turnout wasn't big either. The format also experienced another round of bannings since. Nevertheless, the results call into question some previous assumptions. In particular, control fared much better than expected.

A Look at the Top 16 Standard Decks from Cardmarket Series Prague

Event CoverageBy JohnnyCroat (2019-12-04)

Cardmarket Series Prague featured a brand new Standard format once again. While Oko was out, the oven was still burning with the fire of invention. The Top 8 was low on green and high on Flash decks, but the rest of the Top 16 included lots of Golgari, some Gruul, and all the Beasts and Knights one could wish for …

Commander Deck Tech: Dissent in the Land

ConstructedBy RJGiel (2019-12-02)

Today, we look at a Lands deck, but one that doesn't revolve around the popular commanders that we see everybody using in this context: no Omnath, no Mina and Denn, no Gitrog Monster. Today we turn to an unexpected commander for a Lands strategy. Welcome to Samut Lands.

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2019-11-27)

Following the November 18 bans, the Year of the Food has officially come to an end—and it was actually just six very intense weeks. In its wake, several top decks are now vying for Standard supremacy, and one thing most of them have in common is their focus on one key artifact or enchantment.

Mythic Championship V: Twilight of the Dead

Event CoverageBy Kumagoro (2019-10-23)

The penultimate Arena Mythic Championship was foremost a Golos affair, yet the wandering robot and its favorite Zombieland destination failed to reach the topmost place in their final Standard showcase. This ended up the privilege of the reigning, and fervent, world champion.

Inner Workings: Field of Golos

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2019-10-16)

The release of Throne of Eldraine impacted Standard in explosive ways. After the fairy dust settled, a tier-one deck emerged, surprisingly unhindered by the departure of Scapeshift, and stronger than ever in the new midrange metagame. Will it be obliterated by the upcoming DCI rulings?

Adventure Decks in Standard

ConstructedBy TobiH (2019-10-11)

It seems Golos decks with Field of the Dead are all that anyone's talking about these days. But when it comes to actual, measurable results at real-life Standard tournaments, Adventure decks have just made a big splash, claiming five of the Top 8 spots at a major event. Let's take a look!

Rotation Grief: Dominaria (Part 2)

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2019-10-02)

We've reached the end of this journey of grief (or jubilation, depending on who you ask) as we look into the red, green, multicolored, and colorless cards we'll have to remove from our Standard decks as Dominaria rotates out.

Rotation Grief: Rivals of Ixalan (Part 2)

The Standard Rotation looms closer with every passing day. The major meta shift will come first as a consequence of four sets disappearing from Standard. Kumagoro looks at the red, green, multicolored, and colorless cards in Rivals of Ixalan, which may be the last small expansion ever (if the Three-and-One Model sticks).

Rotation Grief: Ixalan (Part 2)

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2019-08-28)

We continue this journey of grief (or jubilation, depending on who you ask) by looking at the red, green, multicolored, and colorless cards we'll have to remove when Ixalan rotates.

Rotation Grief: M19 (Part 2)
