On the other hand, being legendary allows you to use it, play another one and sacrifice the first, then use the second's ability again... :)

Being legendary makes this card go from abusive to just very good in the right deck.

Giwinho(2015-05-10 15:09)

Will this card become more expensive after the Standard rotation?!

ConstructedBy RJGiel (2020-01-27)

ConstructedBy RyanS (2020-01-13)

This EDH deck puts Arixmethes in command of an army of huge Leviathans, Krakens, Octopi, and other monsters of the deep sea. Including new cards from Theros Beyond Death, it's a fun way for casual players to flood the board with giant behemoths and crush opponents with their tentacles.

Why You Too Should Play European Highlander

ConstructedBy Ratix (2020-01-06)

Before Commander caught on, players had already been enjoying a singleton format for years. It was named Highlander — originally for the catchphrase of the 1986 cult classic which stipulates that "There can be only one," but the format also seems to want to live forever.

Pioneer at Cardmarket Series Prague

Event CoverageBy TobiH (2019-12-06)

Pioneer wasn't one of the big headliners in Prague, and the event's turnout wasn't big either. The format also experienced another round of bannings since. Nevertheless, the results call into question some previous assumptions. In particular, control fared much better than expected.

One of the great things about Commander is that you can run utility lands; lands that do something besides tapping for mana. Today, Robert wants to take a look at some of the greatest potential inclusions.

#TwitterBuildsModern Episode One: Prison Break!

ConstructedBy JohnnyCroat (2019-03-01)

When building a deck with a clear win-condition in mind, it's important to look at the ways that this can be achieved. When that win-condition will take far more turns than is usual in the format, then we need to look at ways to give us that time! Let's build a pillow fort with Maze's End!

ConstructedBy RyanS (2019-01-30)

Dangerous Propositions: Cloudpost

EntertainmentBy Kumagoro (2018-05-15)

The Modern ban list is a maximum security prison with 33 inmates, some of which pose a potentially serious threat to the meta. But now that Big Jace has been released, anything can happen. Let’s review each of those offenders to see if they’re eligible for parole. This time we talk of big mana lands.

Dominaria Set Review for Modern

Dominaria's release is on the horizon and that means once thing for Modern players: time to brew decks and figure out which cards help which archetypes. This time, we have lots of reprints, awesome callbacks, Historic Spells and the new Enchantment mechanics: Sagas.

The Ideal Deck: Enduring Ideal in Modern

ConstructedBy JohnnyCroat (2018-03-02)

The B&R announcements are some of the most intense moments of the year for serious Magic players. The early ‘spoiler’ that Ensnaring Bridge was going to face the ban hammer was fake, naturally. Still, Lantern players may look elsewhere for a lock deck, now that Jace and Bloodbraid are free. We’re going to look at one potent Standard lock deck and see if it can be successfully ported into Modern. After all, what's the point of controlling their top decks if they are just going to brainstorm.
