Might see SB play as tech against the new Humans deck variants, since it shuts down most of the deck, and Vithian Renegades can't remove it.

A must-have in some EDH metagame where playing "Enters-the-battlefield"-creature is very common.

Good sideboard card in modern against one of the top tiers: Twin.

Quite strong combo with Eater of Days (9/8 for 4 mana), Hunted Horror (7/7 for 2 mana), or few others (Leveler, Sky Swallower, Lord of Tresserhorn), but best is with Phyrexian Dreadnought (12/12 for 1 mana)

Taking a Second Look at Modern Jund

ConstructedBy HansD (2019-06-25)

Modern has changed in the five years I’ve been playing and following it, and some decks that used to be on top of the dogpile have found themselves kicked off their perch. As Modern has become more powerful, aggressive, and linear, many of the fair, interactive decks that reigned supreme have gone the way of the dinosaur. Jund is one of these decks that has been pushed out more and more by the changes in the metagame, but Modern Horizons has brought along a good number of new toys that warrant giving this battered archetype a second chance.

Proliferating with War of the Spark

ConstructedBy JaminK (2019-04-26)

Planeswalkers are not the only big mechanic in War of the Spark. Proliferate is also making a huge comeback with multiple great enablers. Jamin takes a look at a potential Modern deck that can utilize these new tools.

Should This Be Banned - Part 4

ConstructedBy RJGiel (2019-04-25)

Welcome back to Should This Be Banned. Last time we looked at cards that win the game with little to no effort. This article is probably the most exciting piece; looking at potential additions to the banlist! Keep in mind that this is a highly opinionated article and that I encourage you to discuss these cards and others in the comments.

Nature Abhors a Trinket: The Reclamation Sage Story

EntertainmentBy Kumagoro (2018-10-26)

Green rarely kills creatures, so it was given power over the two most frequent nonland permanent types: artifacts and enchantments. But green is also the color that uses creatures as its main tool, so that these two elements would eventually collide feels only… natural.

Inner Workings: Saheeli Evolution

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2018-09-20)

In each installment of the Inner Workings series, we'll examine a different Modern archetype to find out what makes it tick. This time, it's the turn of a different kind of toolbox deck, featuring the relocation to Modern of the infinite creatures combo that broke Standard last year.

Common "Mistakes" in Magic You Shouldn't Kick Yourself For

EntertainmentBy HansD (2018-09-18)

Regret selling your Snapcasters for twenty Euros? Missed that game-winning Thragtusk trigger in the Top 8 of a PPTQ? Hans takes a break away from Modern this week to bring you an article about why you shouldn't feel bad about these (and other) common "mistakes" that we've made!

Fighting the Good Fight - Snapcaster Mage

ConstructedBy HansD (2018-08-28)

Welcome to another edition of "Fighting the Good Fight," and this past weekend's GP results couldn't have come at a better time for today's discussion of the best blue card in Modern: Snapcaster Mage. Snapcaster has been a mainstay in Modern since the format's very start, but with how well UW Control fared, we're expecting this wizard to be even more prevalent than usual. In that case, it's doubly important that we know how we can fight against one of Modern's most powerful cards!

Inner Workings: Bloomless Titan

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2018-08-24)

In each installment of the Inner Workings series, we'll examine a different Modern archetype to find out what makes it tick. This time, it's the turn of Bloomless Titan, the heir of the explosive ramp deck that used to perform a grand juggling act with bounce lands, Amulets and Titans.

Zero Thrill: The Pact of Negation Story

ConstructedBy Kumagoro (2018-03-14)

Were Force of Will available in Modern, the format would be dramatically altered. And yet, Modern does already contain a piece of non-conditional zero-cost countermagic, and while it's not played as much as Vintage and Legacy's signature counterspell, it's been tentatively around since Modern's early days.
