One of the very few commons that is only playable as 1x in vintage (outside standard). Delve is simply too broken.

Darkiwi(08.05.2015 16:17)

This card was underestimated by R&D.
In Modern and Legacy, many decks had many cheap cantrips filling the graveyard very fast and making Treasure Cruise basicaly and Ancestral Recall. Every blue deck started using it and other decks event splashed blue just for it.
Therefore, it got banned in both format and restricted in Vintage.

Extremely powerfull card ! Be careful before playing it as it is banned in a lot of formats !

Playing Unpowered Vintage Jund at Eternal Weekend

ConstructedBy Andifeated (2020-01-15)

Vintage is a format unaffordable to many players because of the notoriously expensive Power 9 and other cards such as Mishra's Workshop and Bazaar of Baghdad. Andifeated is one of those players, but that doesn't stop him from building powerful budget decks and attending Vintage tournaments.

Why You Too Should Play European Highlander

ConstructedBy Ratix (2020-01-06)

Before Commander caught on, players had already been enjoying a singleton format for years. It was named Highlander — originally for the catchphrase of the 1986 cult classic which stipulates that "There can be only one," but the format also seems to want to live forever.

5 Exciting Build-Arounds from War of the Spark

SpoilersBy HansD (2019-04-30)

Standard has been experiencing a renaissance the past few sets, and War of the Spark looks to continue that trend. One of the most exciting aspects of Standard is that it has been a brewer's paradise, with off-meta decks such as Chromatic Black, Bant Vannifar, Five-Color Guildgates, and more proving the existence of creative deckbuilding in the format. Looking through the spoilers for WAR has shown that this set, more than any other in recent memory, is chock-full of build-arounds that could provide the building blocks for new archetypes. Let's jump right in and look at the five most exciting build-arounds I've found from the new set!

Why Standard-Plus Should Be a Singleton Format

EntertainmentBy HansD (2019-01-08)

Happy New Year, and welcome back! 2019 has a lot of new things in store for Magic as whole, with Magic Fests, E-Sports, and the introduction of a new format come October. There's plenty of speculation about what this format will look like, but I won't be bringing you any today in my article. Instead, I want to offer a suggestion: the "Standard-Plus" format, as it is currently referred to by Wizards of the Coast, should be a singleton format in the interest of the health of the format.

Fighting the Good Fight: Goblin Guide

ConstructedBy HansD (2018-10-12)

"Fighting the Good Fight" returns with one of red's most iconic creature spells. Let's take a look at what makes this card so deadly and how to fight against it!

Burning Reanimator in 2018: A Dormant Monster

ConstructedBy CabalTherapy (2018-06-19)

Is there a Reanimator deck more powerful and brutal than the common black-red and blue-black variants? A deck that can choose to win via Empty the Warrens, Tendrils of Agony, and Griselbrand? Definitely! But it's remained underneath the surface for far too long.

Exploiting Delve: BUG Delve(-r) in Legacy

ConstructedBy CabalTherapy (2018-05-14)

In this outing, I look at a mechanic that has seen two of it rank banned or restricted in nearly every major format: Delve. I look at an aggressive application of Delve in Legacy's strongest three-color combination and how it presents a unique take on Tempo in a format dominated by blue tempo decks.
