It's a new year, and in Magic: The Gathering, that means, among other things, a new Commander set. We’ve had shards, wedges, enemy guilds, mono-color planeswalkers, four-color, and finally, tribal commander sets so far, so where could they possibly go next! Well, they are returning to an old idea – planeswalkers as commanders. We don't know which planeswalkers yet, or which color identities we'll be getting, but they'll definitely be planeswalker commanders and, as with the last Commander set, there will be four decks instead of five, suggesting that they will mix and match color combinations like they did with the tribal set. Whatever they do, it's sure to be interesting as planeswalker commanders are always… unique. Check back in late July for the full breakdown of the four decks and what cards look particularly spicy in Commander (or Legacy) brews.
