Once a year, Bushiroad makes a new Extra Booster for the clan with the most avid fanbase: the mermaid popstars of Bermuda Triangle. Crystal Melody includes 48 cards (one LIR, three VR, five RRR, ten RR, 12 R, and 17 C) + 14 Parallel cards (three SVR, four SP, five SSR and IGR 2). 43 cards in this new expansion are completely new and five are reprints from older sets. Available for purchase beginning 31 January 2020, the MSRP of each Crystal Melody booster pack is 4,00 €.
"I want to show you a stage that's like nothing ever seen before!" Crystal Pop Star, Eve said this, being the new lead singer of the Bermuda Triangle pop group. She might be a delight to your ears on the stage, but don't let that fool you. On the battlefield, she's as fierce as any paladin or terrifying dragon. Eve gets to look at the top card of the deck and may put it on an open Rear-Guard circle. This ability can be activated as many times as the player wants. Yeah, that's right. This means a full board, instantly, with just one effect! Eve also messes with the drive checks since the player can choose to keep the top card in the same place. Her second ability doubles the [Power] or [Critical] of trigger effects, granting an overwhelming advantage. It's worth noting that Eve is a grade 4 mermaid, but she's totally worth it.
Bermuda Triangle has always had its own sub-clans in the form of specific singers. With Crystal Melody, Cardfight!! Vanguard brings back Coral and Riviere to satisfy this requirement.
Aurora Star, Coral and her lovely group brings a more aggressive gameplay, where she changes the original [Critical] of all Coral units to two if the player [Soul Blast] four or more cards. Her second ability helps the [Soul Blast] threshold needed: by [Counter Blast (1)], [Soul Blast (2)], and returning a Normal unit from a Rear-Guard circle, the player gets to choose one Normal unit from the drop zone and put it in their hand. If that unit has "Coral" in their name, Aurora Star, Coral gets +15000 [Power]. With the help of her crew, she can reach her maximum potential and easily trigger her first ability.
Top Idol Riviere gets a sweet reboot as well. When she's placed on the battlefield, by discarding one card and paying [Counter Blast (1)], she gets to draw two cards. However, Riviere isn't just an interesting draw bot, she's a self-[Stand]er! At the end of the battle, by discarding two cards, the player can [Ride] one unit with "Riviere" in its card name as [Stand], but with one less drive until the end of turn.
Bermuda Triangle is one of the oldest clans in Vanguard history and has always had various units with different playstyles. This way, any mermaid fan can appreciate the tuned melodies that Extra Booster 11 plays.
