Polish You Armor with Start Deck 03: Tohya Ebata -Apex Ruler-

Third time's the charm! D Start Deck 03 can’t turn back on a fight, especially with their number one contender! And with that, Planet Cray can breathe with some relief that Dragon Empire isn’t ruling without some heavy paladin competition. In Cardfight!! Vanguard OverDress, major alliances were made between the old clans to establish a more powerful Cray and the result was the creation of six nations. This third time around, Keter Sanctuary and their shiny knights arrive in a little box called D Start Deck 03: Tohya Ebata -Apex Ruler-.

Each D Start Deck 03 contains a 50-card pre-constructed deck with 15 different cards; one will be holographic. You also get an in-theme paper playmat. D Start Deck releases on 14 May 2021 and the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of each pre-constructed deck is 3,99 €.

Lord Bastion At Your Service

Keter Sanctuary was once the great nation of United Sanctuary, that included not only the three great paladin clans - Royal, Shadow, and Gold Paladin - but also Oracle Think Thank, Angel Feather, and Genesis. However, in the years after the fall of Gyze, United Sanctuary was no longer prosperous. The civil war ate a considerable area of the nation, while violent natural events destroyed it even further. Nowadays, the remaining territory was named as Keter Sanctuary and it is trying to be the powerhouse that they once were. While Keter is struggling in the lore, the tabletop has arguably the best Start Deck of the five.

Apex Ruler, Bastion was the knight in shining armor that saved Keter from the abyss of his land. His strategy in Cardfight!! Vanguard is straightforward: [Drive Check] grade 3 units. This is a good thing because at the end of a battle wherein Bastion reveals a grade 3, by discarding one card, he chooses one of his fighters, [Stand] it and gives it [Power]+10000 until the end of the turn.

A Throwback to Katsumi Morikawa

However, having too many grade 3 units in the deck can be rather cloggy, due to the lack of shield and boost ability. Fortunately, D Start 3 presents a few more options while we wait for the main booster. Knight of Broadaxe, Rafluke is a grade 3 card that puts himself in the soul to give another grade 3 Rear-Guard [Power]+10000 - and Vehement Witch, Ramana is the one that you want to give this power to. By paying [Counter Blast (1)], she gets [Power]+5000.  Last but not least, Knight of Heavenly Spear, Rooks is a grade 2 that gains the [Boost] keyword and [Power]+5000 while the player controls at least three grade 3 units.

The plan is rather simple, but this Start Deck is filled with interactions and synergies perfect for starting players.
