V Trial Deck 11: Altmile is the second preconstructed deck with old units from the G Era. This time around, Bushiroad gives some love to the Arabic Knights of Royal Paladin, led by Altmile and his sword masters.
Each Trial Deck includes 50 cards, three Force Gift Markers, a beginner’s guide, a paper playmat, and four different holographic cards. It has a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of 14,99 € available beginning 26 June 2020.
Altmile was the elite knight leader of the Royal Paladin clan in a dimension where Blaster Blade wasn’t available. This unit was one of the first inhabitants of Planet Cray to have had contact with Gear Chronicle and that justifies the close relation that G Era Royal Paladin had with [Stride]. However, the V Series reboot of this clan doesn’t include the [Stride] flavor like Gear Chronicle has, but it still maintains the synergies with grade 2 cards like it had in the past.
Blue Sky Knight, Altmile has one continuous effect during his turn, gaining +15000 [Power] if there are no face up cards in his damage zone. But the juice is in his activated ability: By paying [Counter Blast (1)] and discarding a card, Altmiles searches his deck for up to two grade 2 cards and puts them in his hand. A once per turn tutor seems pretty powerful. One target that Blue Sky Knight, Altmile would likely pick up from his tutoring is Absolute Blade Knight, Livarot since he Superior calls another grade 2 from the deck when called from the hand.
This way, Bushiroad guarantees that the Royal Paladin player experiences the same feeling that they once had playing Altmile: multiple attacks in one turn until victory is secured.
Trial Deck 11: Altmile, like all preconstructed decks of this series, introduces [Order] cards, the new type of cards that resembles ‘Sorceries’ and ‘Spells’ from other trading card games. [Order] cards don’t have [Power] or [Combo] value since they aren’t units, but they will have strong effects in the future. This Trial Deck includes Power Rise Elixir, a Normal [Order] card that, by paying [Counter Blast (2)], gives +20000 [Power] to an allie unit until the end of the turn.
This is just the begging of a new mechanic, so you better fasten your seatbelt and prepare for what’s coming in Cardfight!! Vanguard!
