Mechanized Dragons and Fearsome Rituals Clash in Cybernetic Horizon

July 27, 2018 marks the release of Cybernetic Horizon – the next main set following Flames of Destruction. Not only will this expansion include cards used by characters from the VRAINS anime, like new additions to the powerful Gouki monsters and the first ever Cyberse Ritual Monster, but it will also include new support cards from some (in)famous classics from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX era. Cybernetic Horizon TCG will include 100 cards: 8 Secret Rares, 10 Ultra Rares, 14 Super Rares, 20 Rares and 48 Commons. The OCG will contain 80 cards.

Bring Demise and Ruin upon Your Opponent!

In early 2006, a powerful Ritual Monster was introduced to the YGO TCG: Demise, King of Armageddon. This monarch of terror was no joke as Demise’s ability allowed it to destroy all cards on the field except itself. But over the course of time, this card disappeared from the radar... until now! Cybernetic Horizon brings us an upgraded form of this card. At the cost of 2000 LP, Demise, Supreme King of Armageddon lets you destroy as many other cards on the field as possible while burning your opponent for 200 LP each. Additionally, if you only used Ritual Monsters to Ritual Summon the Supreme King, you can activate his effect for free.

Let’s not forget about his other half as well: Ruin, Queen of Oblivion. While she wasn’t as impactful as the original Demise was, she definitely won’t be a sitting duck this time as Ruin, Graceful Queen of Oblivion.

Lastly, be sure to keep a look out for the Impcantation monsters, a set of monsters that Special Summon themselves and search out either your Ritual Monsters or Ritual Spells. Plus, with their combined levels adding up to 10, they’re an amazing addition to any Ritual Summon strategy.

Cybernetic Mayhem Awaits

The Cyber Dragons, a fan favorite archetype from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, also make a comeback in Cybernetic Horizon. The new Cyber Dragon Herz can add another Cyber Dragon from your graveyard or deck to your hand when it’s sent to the grave. Of course, what better way to send it there than with a Link Summon? Cyber Dragon Zieger is a brand new Link Monster that boosts any of your Machine monsters with 2100 ATK (or more) by another 2100 ATK and DEF. Last but not least is their Spell Card: Cyber Revsystem Special Summons a Cyber Dragon from your hand or graveyard, which in turn triggers Cyber Dragon Vier, a card that Special Summons itself from your hand when another of its kin is summoned!

What Else Waits on the Horizon?

All of the above aren't even close to what Cybernetic Horizon has in store. The expansion finishes off the series of generic Attribute Link Monsters, which started in Code of the Duelist with Missus Radiant. The latest set introduces not one, but two new Attribute Links: Wee Witch’s Apprentice for Dark and Hip Hoshiningen for the Light Attribute, which are two of the most well represented Attributes in the trading card game.

Konami also intrduces two new TCG-exclusive archetypes. One of them is Danger!, which will be based on Bigfoot, the Monster of Loch Ness and other creatures shrouded in mystery that gain their effects when discarded from the hand. The other archetype might sound familiar: The Noble Knights! They already got some new cards in Extreme Force earlier in 2018, but they are back with more cards to add to their arsenal. However, will it be enough for them to finally compete in today’s metagame? Find out what’s waiting on the horizon with Cybernetic Horizon!
